Vintage Halloween Shadowbox Workshop
Saturday, October 29, 2016
10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Halloween is just around the corner and what better way to get ready than to freshen up your witchy décor with a touch of vintage flair? Join Sylvr as she shows you the all the steps to make this fun and whimsical shadowbox that you will be proud to display among your most prized Halloween items. This is for all skill levels and leaves plenty of room for individual creativity to call it your own. Most supplies are included and she would encourage you to bring any additional tidbits and findings, baubles and charms that you want to incorporate into your design. She hopes to show you a few new techniques from making a simple transfer from a printed page, achieving a believable vintage finish on a wooden box (which works great for furniture, too!), to creating dimensional storytelling with simple supplies.
Here is a list of things to bring:
- small, detail scissors or x-acto knife with metal ruler
- regular scissors
- cutting mat
- small detail paint brush
- medium flat brush for glue
- black sharpie
- glue stick
- feathers, fabric, buttons, glitter, gems, charms, ribbon, lace, or anything you want to add to your design. If you have vintage ephemera like book pages or the like, these can be added, too!
This will be so much fun! Please come join us and take home a personal piece of artwork that you will enjoy for many full moons to come!
Workshop fee – $80.00, includes most supplies and lunch
