LoveBug Creations is VERY excited to announce their NEXTCreative Team Call!

They are looking for fun, excited, passionate crafters who love working with ribbon! They’re seeking people who love all types of crafting… Scrapbookers, Card Markers, Mixed Media Artists and anything else you can create!

Does that describe you? Then read on!

Requirements:

6-Month Term runs June 2014 –December 2014
Strong passion for crafting and sharing your work!
Ability to meet deadlines and work well with others! (No Drama Zone)
An Active Blog and Facebook Account (YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter and whatever other social media optional!)
Great written communication/good photography skills (we want to see your projects and postings in the best way possible!)
(Open to USA Residents Only)

Creative Team Expectations:

1 project per week shared on your blog and Facebook pages as well as a short post for our Lovebug Creations Blog!
Participation in blog hops or challenges as they arise
Posting on the Lovebug Creations Facebook Page and sharing projects via whatever social media you can!
Sharing information that we post on Facebook such as sales, Hops, Sneaks, and anything else that comes up!
Taking the time to comment and share other CT member’s projects (we all take the time to make projects and recognizing each person’s work is always nice!) as well as commenting/posting in the Lovebug Lounge Facebook Group.

What you can expect from Lovebug Creations:

Each CT member will receive monthly shipments of our products.
Promotion of your work on the LBC Facebook page, blog and store site as well as any other social media we have access to!
A 25% discount on any other Products you wish to purchase.

We’re celebrating another birthday on the Lovebug Creations Creative Team!

I created a card for the birthday girl inspired by vintage sewing notions. This greeting features one of the newer colors from Lovebug Creations, “Crushed” and I just adore this beautiful, warm Rumple Ribbon. It’s perfect for Spring, Summer and Fall.

I created the “Happy Day” sentiment using the Chip Art tools from Melody Ross. I was going for a leather bracelet look here, but it was a little more challenging than I was expecting. I guess I’m an optimist!

The ribbon matched perfectly with this pad of “DIY SHOP” scrapbook paper that I have from Crate Paper.

I added in a bit of White Mama’s Mesh to give it some additional texture. The white Rumple Ribbon is also from Lovebug Creations.

I love to use pattern in my designs but sometimes too much pattern is too much for the eye to handle. To solve this dilemma I like to separate patterns with a solid to give the eye a break and allow it to process the next print. Here I’ve separated the measuring tape paper from the floral background with a coral-colored paper. Although both papers came from the same coordinated paper stack, it might look messy and disorganized to leave them sitting next to each other.

The Washi Tape was a present from my friend, Cynthia Flores, for a Valentine Swap that we were in and it worked perfectly here to match the base paper.

It’s time for another birthday on the Lovebug Creations Creative Team. This time we’re celebrating

Dorcas Troche

and we’re ready to help her get the party started!

The beautiful ribbon on this card is from Lovebug Creations. It’s called Augusta, from the Family Ties Collection. This collection features yards of gorgeous Rumple Ribbon in all of my favorite vintage-inspired colors.

I added a vintage yellow-colored mother-of-pearl button to the center of the super cute bow.

The flowers are fussy-cut, using two different sizes and they’ve been popped out using foam pop dots.

I have a little thing for vellum, so there’s a piece of vellum on here to give a little visual separation between the background and the die cut hexagon shapes.

I outlined each of the hexagon shapes with my white, Signo Uniball pen.

The tag has been stamped with a Happy Birthday Sentiment and dusted with a rust colored embossing powder. A couple sets of gold brown toned crystals gives the tag just a little bit of bling.

The edges of the card and flowers have been lightly rubbed with a brown Copic marker to give the card a bit of a vintage feel.

I’m so excited to tell you that I used a brand new die from Tim Holtz’ Alterations Frameworks line. This Sizzix die is so new, I just brought it home Monday from the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) convention in Anaheim, CA, where I won it and one of my BFF’s stood in line to pick it up for me (Thank you, Julie! I owe you!) The name is “Honeycomb” and it’s pretty versatile, allowing you to cut out different sheets of paper from the same collection and then mixing and matching the hexagon shapes.

This past weekend I went to a very special event hosted by my friend, Kim Caldwell. The event was called Winter Wonderland and was held at the magical Disneyland Hotel. A wonderful part of the creative retreats that I attend is the swaps among the participants. It’s so much fun to create a set of identical ornaments and receive a set back from your friends that are so beautiful and gorgeous, and handmade!

There were several swaps for this event but I only joined the vintage Christmas Ornament Swap. Since I have 2 other ornament swaps PLUS a Secret Santa swap going on, I didn’t want to overload myself!

For this swap I created a Victorian-inspired Christmas Ornament, with a swan as the focal point, complete with vintage glass glitter and tinsel around the edges.

I created a sweet bow, using Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon, and attached it to the vintage-style bottle brush tree and used Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon as the beautiful hanger, as well. The ribbon I used is Buttercream, from the “I Do” Collection.

Today is a very special day for the Lovebug Creations Creative Team.

It’s Dawn Rene’s birthday!

Phenomenal!

To wish her a happy day I created a Circus-Themed birthday card and I’m so excited to share it with you! First, I have to tell you about the Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon. I used Simply Blue, from the Star Spangled collection, and William, from my favorite collection, Family Ties.

And, I used some Dark Yellow Mama’s Mesh to give this project a little texture and interest.

I picked up a Graphic 45 Stack, Le Cirque, from my favorite scrapbooking store, Paper Tales, in San Diego, CA quite a while back and I’ve been ~~hoarding it~~ waiting to use it. Dawn Rene’s card is the perfect reason to break out this paper and start creating. This card took me to Doodle Town!

There’s so many great vintage circus icons in this paper collection that my mind was on overload trying to narrow down the choices!

My projects just aren’t complete without some

LoveBug Creations ribbon!

In a sudden burst of inspiration over the weekend I decorated a top hat with some vintage and vintage-looking trims that I had around my craftroom. With the swans as my muses (is that even correct, for the plural of muse?), I pulled out doilies, flowers, eyelet lace, mica, a glittered snowflake, vintage velvet leaves, some petite spun cotton mushrooms and an angel broach and got to work. With visions of Eiko Ishioka’s Swan Hat costume design work in “Mirror, Mirror” on my mind, I created a quick winter white top hat with lighthearted and whimsical details. (I’ll be the first to admit that this is nowhere near the avant-garde style of Eiko, but I just adore her work!)

I used two colors of Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon to add the finishing touches to this Winter Swan Top Hat. The lighter color is Buttercream, from the “I Do” collection and the darker color is Mae from the “Family Ties collection“. I love how the ribbon gives the hat a little bit of an ethereal feel, giving the scene some sparkle and shine!

Now it’s time to show you what I made.

I bought a simple, undecorated votive at the grocery store and wrapped it with a vintage music sheet.
Next, I added a strip of red paper at the top and bottom of the music sheet on the first votive.
Then, I used a red scalloped circle, layered with an aqua scalloped circle and using foam dots placed my angel on top.

I used Mama’s Mesh from the Merry Mesh Collection, along with some red ribbon from the brand new Simply Sheer in Christmas Candy. I also used some Rosebud Rumple Ribbon, and some Butterfly Blue Rumple Ribbon.

I tucked in some sparkly details and attached a vintage Christmas ornament to finish it off.

For the next two votives, I simply attached some tinsel to the back of the scallop and some silver glittered beads to the bottom.

How amazing is this new ribbon and mesh? Don’t you love it?

Ready to see my card? Who doesn’t love cupcakes? I drew this dreamy cupcake for Mama Lovebug because she is so sweet! She’s always been one of my greatest cheerleaders and I’m so happy to be able to make something cute for her special day. I colored the doodles with watercolor paint, and added some iridescent glitter and pink rhinestones.

I used two colors of Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon for this cute card. One of my favorite ribbon colors is Princess Party Pink. The other ribbon I used is Simply White, which is always great for making the other colors really stand out.

I used a Teresa Collins eBosser embossing folder called Décor Circles on the pink background paper. The folders are so convenient because they are 8×10 size so I can have embossed paper ready to go for the next project.

This week I have an easy Halloween project for you. All you need is a jar, some filler, some of your favorite Halloween-themed paper embellishments and some gorgeous Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon.

The jar is filled with some cute candy corn filler that I bought at the craft store and decorated with some gorgeous Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbons.

Alternatively, you could add in some real Candy Corn, but make sure that it’s Brach’s or the Candy Corn Snobs are going to get upset! You think I’m joking, don’t you? Nope, I have a friend whose name begins with M and she is a Candy Corn Snob!

I used some scrapbook paper from the Dollar Spot at Target, layered with a scalloped circle edged with a black stamp pad, another scalloped circle (I do love me some scallops!) and topped with a bat stamp from the dollar section at my local craft store.

Next, I tied on some beautiful Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon and finished it with a Halloween Kitty brad. Here I’ve used Purple People Eater and some Simply White Rumple Ribbon.

It’s easy to make and super cute to add to your Halloween decorations or to give away to one of your BFF’s!

Hi everyone!

Today is a very special day for the Lovebug Creations Creative Team.

It’s Zeni’s birthday! Write on!

To wish her a happy day we created birthday cards for her and I’m so excited to share mine with you! First, I have to tell you about the Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon. I used Princess Party Pink and Eyes of Blue.

I picked up a DCWV Stack at the craft store a while back and I’ve been waiting to use it. Zeni’s card seemed like the perfect opportunity! The Stack is called Vintage Collector and I am really fond of it because not only does it have images of vintage typewriters, which I collect (really, what don’t I collect?), but it also has pics of vintage cameras. And bottle caps, and inspirational sayings on chalk board and hot air balloons! It’s so cute and I adore the colors.

I tied the Lovebug Creations Rumple Ribbon into a sweet double bow and surrounded it with some girly accents from my stash. It needed just a little bit of fancy sparkle so I added some pearl-colored sequins. The paper stack came with a nice sentiment coming out of the typewriter but it wasn’t just right so I typed up my own and printed it out on vellum. I know I’m older than some of you but do you remember typing up letters back in the day on a typewriter and using paper so thin it was almost like tissue paper? I think they did that to save on postage when mailing letters overseas. Anyways, I’m such a stickler for random details so I just had to create what I had in my mind.

I’m crazy about how the pink and turquoise ribbon really create a burst of color for this card. I hope Zeni likes it!
